I love you from a distance

To my friends,

I love you from a distance....
because I can't be your ride or die.
I have my children to live for and
I put their lives before mine

I love you from a distance...
because I can't give you any money.
My honey works too hard to make our lives better
for me to give you my cheddar

I love you from a distance...
Because I'm not going to a club with you
I'm married now and refuse to deal with
those crazy single thirsty dudes.

I love you from a distance...
because I cant give you a ride somewhere
I have children and things to do
and unfortunately no time for you

I love from a distance...
because my husband comes first
he is my better half and I've made my choice
this is the life i want and i say that with a very proud voice

I love you from a distance
i love you from afar
my dear friend you will always be in my heart.
no matter where life leads us remember our past
for we had a good one with lots of laughs.
you were my girl, my homie
and you knew me so well
but life changes direction
and we have to accept it.
I love you from a distance because it's for the best.
I cant be a fake friend to you like all of the rest.
So I'm keeping it real and letting you know
i love you  and i hope you know
you're still my friend from a distance....

  2. Such a beautiful poem. And so relatable. When you've got all those things going on, friends don't always come first but they know you still love them and think of them!

    1. Thank you for commenting, before my kids and marriage my friends and I hung out all the time but I’ve realized that sometimes I just can’t or don’t want too and it’s not because I don’t enjoy them I’m just too tired or my
Husband and I finally get time to ourselves

  7. Despite being married with children we all need friends, and to make the time to nurture those friendships. Life shouldn't be a choice between having friends and having a husband/family. It's a balancing act.

    1. thank you for commenting, it is definitely a balancing act but its also prioritizing. i love my friends but ill pick hanging with my hubby when he has the day off over my friends anyday.

  10. What a cute ode to your friends. I think friendships over 30s is harder because its not based on clubbing and going out anymore and people are getting married and having kids.

  11. Beautiful poem that deal with the fact that sometimes you just grow apart. No ill feelings, no arguments.. you just go down different roads. It was painful to read to be honest because it is exactly how I feel about my former best friend that I knew since kindergarden.

    1. thank you for commenting. my best friend and i have been friends since elementary school and we disagreed 1 time when i first got married and pregnant, but i communicated my concerns with her and she did the same with me and we worked it out like adults. i love her to death she is an amazing friend and godmother to my kids.

  12. This is a beautiful and very real poem. I can totally relate to this because my non mommy friends have scattered since having my baby girl since I can't go out to do all the single life things anymore.

    1. thank you for commenting! yes sometimes that happens. when one of my friends became pregnant and i was in no way ready for a responsibility like that i became distant from her and just didnt know how to handle it.
now as a mom i understnad both sides
